188. Sith Saga: Proving Grounds - Raezyr

They landed the Wasted Rancor at the same landing bay they had taken off from, and exited the ship.

"You've seen landing twice now. Next time it's your turn," Raezyr said to Anya as they left the space port.

She only nodded, still wary and not quite sure what to make of his recent helpfulness. He'd given her some great fighting tips during their sparring session on the way back, as well as helped her more in developing her use of the Force. She changed the subject to more pressing matters.

"Guys, how are we going to explain complete loss of the Rancor's crew?" Anya asked.

"Simple," Tyrrazapon replied, "the ship was taken over by the LMP, but we followed Iago's orders to the letter and didn't reveal ourselves until Iago and his crew arrived. The Raider's destroyed the LMP ship and docked with the Flyer. The LMPs were unfortunate enough to overpower the Raiders when they attempted to board, despite our surprise attack. We, however, with our mighty Force powers, were able to defeat the remaining LMPs and deliver the ship as promised."

"Excellent," Raezyr said.

"Sounds good enough to me," commented Trychon.

They stopped briefly to deposit their gear in their apartments before making their way to the Revenant headquarters.

Shado Golar was sitting at a booth in the bar area, watching two blue-skinned Twi'lek dancers when they arrived.

"Sit down, Jedi Hunters," he said as he motioned for the droid keeping the bar to bring refreshments.

The four Sith students slid into the booth.

"The Exchange contacted me yesterday to make payment. They were quite pleased about recieving the ship, but confused as to why Captain Sand Iago wasn't there to complete the transaction," Golar related. He looked at the four Sith and waited for an explaination.

Tyrrazapon laid out the sequence of events, just as he had made them up earlier. Golar seemed fairly non-chalant about losing that crew.

"No matter. Iago was a merc anyway. He and his crew of raiders usually performed well enough, but he did work for the highest bidder, and we suspected that he might try to double cross us. That ship was worth 20 times what we were paying him, and he knew it. That's why you were sent along. To test your loyalty and abilities."

Trychon could feel Raezyr's anger starting to well up. He understood it perfectly. Hearing that your life was endagered simply as a test wasn't something that sat well.

He spoke quickly before Raezyr's emotions boiled over,"We brought Iago's ship back for you. It's docked at it's usual spaceport."

"You can keep it, if you like. It was Iago's personal property, and being a merc ship, it has a small reputation. Not something we want connected to the Revenants. Consider it a bonus for a mission well done," Golar said, taking a puff of his cigarra. He blew a smoke ring and watched for a moment before continuing.

"Speaking of payment, I need an account number where I can deposit your earnings. It will be deposited through untraceable channels. Can't have the Republic Judicials tracking Revenant payments to the Sith, now can we?"

Tyr disguised his shock well out of habit, but Anya and Trychon weren't so skilled at hiding their surprise. Only Raezyr's helm masked his.

"Don't look so surprised," Golar commented casually, his attention on the Twi'lek dancers. "The Revenants didn't become as powerful as we are by being gullible.

"Your identities are safe, as long as you don't try to cross us. And if you kill this Jedi, if and when he shows up, and try to blame it on the Revenants, you will find every Jedi on Coruscant breathing down your necks."

187. Sith Saga: Proving Grounds - Trychon

They walked down their respective ramps in the docking bay, taking in their surroundings. They met up in the center of the large room and shook hands.

Eventually, a few blue humanoids walked out from the shadows. They walked straight towards the Galaxy Flyer, scanning sensors in hand. They were some sort of alien Trychon didn't recognize... but that covered a lot of different sorts of aliens. They chattered a bit, and Trychon thought it seemed positive.

Finally, they stepped towards the group of sith. In what passed as pretty good basic, the tallest said to them "The ship seems to be in good order, considering. You are not, however, the contacts we were expecting."

Trychon looked at him. "Does that really matter?"

Tyrrazapon stepped in front of him. "You'll be making the same payment arrangements. You can pay the Revenants. All you owe us is a refuel on this ship here so we can get back to get our cut. Fair?"

The aliens chattered a bit again before agreeing. "The exchange will live up to its side of the agreement."

Tyrrazapon extended his hand. "My name is Tyrrazapon. This is Raezyr, Trychon and Anya." He gestured to them in turn. "We appreciate the business, even though we aren't exactly a part of the Revenants."

The leader grasped Tyr's hand. "Faren'or'gamulak. You can call me 'Norg'. If you're not exactly a part of the Revanants, feel free to look us up again later."

After a bit of contact information exchanging, both sides parted.

-----------------

En route to Coruscant in the Wasted Rancor, Tyrrazapon turned to Trychon after the four had finished an exercise in dueling. "So have you come up with a name yet?"

Trychon sat down and took a drink of his water before responding. "What do you mean?"

Anya jumped in. "Well, that ship will be 'your' ship, and certainly you don't plan to call it the 'Galaxy Flyer.'

"Oh, absolutely not." Trychon got up from his seat. "I guess I just haven't thought much about it. How about the 'Horny Bantha?'..."

"EW." Anya splurted.

"Something darker. How about 'Sith Stalker'?" Raezyr added.

"Too obvious." Tyrrazapon contested. "Why don't we name it the 'We're here to mess your planet up'?"

A piece of trash flew off the floor at Tyrrazapon's head.

"Ok ok..." he added "Maybe the 'Night Stalker'... or... ooh. How about since we hunt Jedi... the 'Dark Knight Stalker'?!"

Raezyr and Trychon responded instantly "Dark Knight?" Trychon laughed and Raezyr mumbled "Ridiculous."

"It's the 'Twilight Stalker' then." Trychon said as he sat back down.

"You had something in mind all along, didn't you?" Tyrrazapon asked, wondering suddenly how he'd come up with that part of the name.

Trychon took another drink. "No no... you guys helped. Really."

186. Sith Saga: Proving Grounds - Raezyr

Raezyr entered the cockpit of the Wasted Rancor as Anya was struggling to pull the body out of the pilot out of the chair.

"You do realize that you're doing that the hard way, right?" Raezyr asked.

She stopped and looked up at Raezyr, "You're not gonna start already are you?"

He ignored the comment, "Why don't you use the Force to move the body?"

She looked down at the floor and paused for a while. "I can't move something this big."

"Why not?"

"Because it's too heavy. I'm not strong enough, alright? Happy?" she snapped.

Raezyr reached into a tool box, pulled out a spanner and tossed it onto the floor. "Can you pick that up and steady it?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm not inept, just weak," she said, glaring at Raezyr.

"There is no differnece. One object is no different than another," Raezyr explained.

Anya looked at him incredulously. "Are you kidding? They're completey different. One is a small hand tool. The other is a big fat slob of a human."

Raezyr shook his head, "It's only different in your mind." He levitated the body and floated down the hall. He followed right behind.

He looked back over his shoulder and saw Anya levitate the spanner back to the tool box.

"Get us going, will you?"Raezyr called.

"Um... I can't," she replied.

"Nevermind," he mumbled as he made his way back to the airlock to dispose of the pilot's body. "I'll do it when I get back."

When Raezyr got back, he removed his helm, slid into the pilot's chair and began working the controls, explaining to Anya what he was doing.

By the time they arrived at the 3rd moon of Ithor, Anya was in the pilot's seat.

"Not too bad," Raezyr commented, "although if I hadn't been here you would have killed us trying to exit hyperspace like that.

"Now, let me have the con and I'll show you how to land this bucket."

185. Sith Saga: Proving Grounds - Raezyr

"Uh, Captain Iago, I think we've got a problem here," the lead man spoke into his comm headset. He listened to something in the earpiece then spoke again, "No sir, just the opposite. There's no resistance whatsoever. You might wanna get over here."

"Looks like you boys are late for the party," Trych chuckled.

"I don't think you're gonna be laughing when Captain Iago and the Chiefs get here," the man who had commed Iago said.

Within moments, Iago stormed aboard the Galaxy Flyer, his Chiefs right behind him.

"What in the name of all that is holy do you think you were doing? First, you're late. Second, I told you to stick to the plan. You know why, numb nuts? Two of this crew were MY MEN!" Iago hollered at them, cigarra still clenched in his teeth.

"You would be wise to change your tone," Raezyr spoke calmly, although Trych and Tyr could hear the cold edge to it.

By this time, Tyr and Anya had stepped out from the bulkhead on either side of the hatch, effectively flanking Iago and his men.

"Change my tone? Who do you think you are? This is my mission and my crew. I'll speak however I want, dumb shit!" Iago yelled, poking Raezyr in the chest with his finger.

"You've killed my men and failed to follow orders. People who don't follow orders don't last in my outfit. Boys, you know what to do." He said and drew his blaster.

In the blink of an eye, 5 lightsabers snapped on and up, deflecting the blaster bolts with relative ease. Within seconds, it was over. Iago's men were dead, and he was on his knees, nursing the stump of his arm where his hand had been.

Tyr walked over to Iago and lowered his thrumming orange blade to his throat.

"You'll pay for this. The Revenants will destroy you for double crossing them," Iago hissed.

Raezyr began laughing. Everyone turned to look look at him as no one had heard him laugh like this. "You are a moron. We're not doing this to double cross anyone. The Flyer will be delivered on schedule."

Bewilderment spread across Iago's face, "Then why did you have to do this?"

"Killing you and your crew may not have been necessary, but it sure was fun."

"You bastards!" Iago snarled.

"Go fuck yourself, Sand Iago," Tyr said and removed his head with a flick of his wrist.

"Anya, please go kill the pilot of the Rancor, if you wouldn't mind," Raez said, still chuckling to himself.

She grinned, "It'd be my pleasure." She turned and hurried throught the hatch to the other ship.

Raezyr turned to Tyr and Trych. "I'll go get us uncoupled, and Anya and I will meet you two in the Ottega system."

184. Sith Saga: Proving Grounds - Trychon

When they were all in position and things were pretty much ready to go, Trychon felt the green light come from Raezyr.

Try not to mess up my shiny new Captain's chair. He thought to Tyrrazapon, before striking down the two men he was with. He ran into one more person on his way back to the bridge. Killing these simple people was becoming almost too easy.

They all met up in the bridge. Trychon sat himself down in the Captain's chair. "All too easy..." he commented and closed his eyes, enjoying the thoughts of what he could do with a ship like this.

"So then... off to Ottega?" Anya asked Raezyr.

"No. I want to take care of that arrogant prick Iago. Teach him a lesson he'll never have the benefit to learn from." Tyrrazapon interjected.

"Trych?" Raezyr turned to Trychon.

"I agree. Better not to leave behind potential enemies... unless they can some other purpose for you."

Raezyr seemed to agree immediately. "Ok... here's what we do then. 'That arrogant prick' was right about one thing. As long as we're on separate ships, our advantage is much less. I'm sure this ship could probably take theirs if we handled it properly, but there's no guarantee he doesn't have another trick up his sleeve or that he doesn't duck and run. I say we follow through as though nothing has happened. Let them board us and take it from there."

Trychon was fiddling with some of the controls on his chair. "Plus, their reaction could be fun anyway."

-----------------

Hours later, Sand Iago had his ship maneuvering in for the grab. Everything was going better than planned. He'd have to downplay the newcomers' part in the execution of his plan. This had to remain HIS victory.

He had his men stationed and ready for the command.

-----------------

Raezyr stood by the bulkhead facing directly at the hatch, as it was getting ready to be breached for the second time in a short period. Trychon was next to him... but was leaning nonchalantly against the same bulkhead. Anya and Tyrrazapon were against the walls opposite them... hidden from view, but ready to turn around the corner when needed.

The hatch slid open and random blaster cover fire came in for just a second before the raiders decided something was wrong. Four of them came through, two by two, rifles still at the ready, staring inquisitively at the two men calmly standing there.

Trychon put his hands together and made them into a mock pistol, pointing it at the men in front of them. He mimed out the recoil, as he pretended to shoot at them... "Psoo! Psoo!"
