Dianna looked at the Sith and closed her eyes, seemingly in exhaustion. The medical droid tried to insert itself into the middle of the group, only to be held back by Trychon's outstretched arm. It began its standard protests and insisting that the Captain needed rest before Dianna interrupted it. "I'm fine, Emdee. Please leave us now. I need to have this conversation." She opened her eyes again to watch the droid hover away, with its head lowered in mock dejection. After it was around the corner, she spoke again. "I don't know guys. What you're asking to do could be very dangerous. Not just to yourselves, either."
Raezyr shook his head. "You really don't have to tell us to go."
Trychon took a step closer. "This really falls under the umbrella of things that are easier to ask for forgiveness or whatever. I was never one to ask for much anyway, so I don't get it. In any case, this would be a good chance for you to help even out our odds with a bit more information."
Dianna was clearly frustrated and worried, but she ultimately gave in. Trychon and Raezyr had several questions for her and she did her best to answer them, although she continually expressed her concerns, which were in turn ignored by the other two. She went over the details again of how the attack went down, and how they were so badly beaten.
She explained how she'd overheard some of the crew discussing ways to raise the money to pay back the initial payment on the job, but given the large amount due to the size of the operation, that was a stretch. When Raezyr offered some credits to buy them time with the buyer, she told them that really they were pretty much sarlacced anyway for screwing up a run of such import.
When questioned as to why Riv-ars would ask for the Lair, rather than simply try to take it from them when weakened, Dianna grimaced. "In part, it's because of the defenses we have set up here... but realistically... he's trying to humiliate me and make me give him what he wants. It may still be for the best. My pride is nothing next to the lives of my crew members."
After reassuring her that her crew would come back safe, Raezyr asked her if she knew where to find Riv-ars or the hostages. She held back from showing any emotion by simply closing her eyes again as she nodded no. Raezyr looked back to Trychon, who was standing with his arms crossed. "I'll find them."
Raezyr noticed the medical droid poking its head around the corner again and stood up. "Get some rest, Di... Trych and I have some planning to do."
-------------
As a precaution, Raezyr and Trychon gathered up a few of their more expensive belongings and loaded them into the Razor when they thought nobody was looking. Then they proceeded back to their dormitories to get to work on their plans. They didn't share with any of the crew right off the bat... as there was still the possibility of more treachery... but they felt it was important to be seen working in the Lair, rather than hiding on one of their ships.
In a sign of further faith, Trychon brought the Stalker down to a very low orbit over the base. There was very little chance of someone finding them because of it... but it stood a good chance that if Riv-ars was to get bold and advance on them... it could cause him to think again.
Sitting on the floor, Trychon sifted through the data they'd retrieved from the cruiser a few weeks back. He'd never had a chance to really look at any of it. He eventually made his way to what seemed to be the encrypted message the Cruiser had received regarding the Rancor and Dianna. Not surprisingly, the transmission details and sources were encrypted.
Trychon smiled.
