Trychon explained to Raezyr how one of his favorite things about people in general from a slicer's point of view... was that they took 'encrypted' for granted as 'safe'. He went on to explain how no data was safe that still existed in any form, which is why he always had full overwrite protocols on any pack of data he found important or wanted to be hidden. Done properly, the most that others could find out about what he'd done there was that something had taken place, but leave no other clues. Under the right circumstances, even that wouldn't be possible.
"So you're saying you can find Riv-ars?" Raezyr asked as he paced.
"In all likelyhood... yes. I can find where Riv-ars transmitted from. That's not good enough in itself, but it seems that he did actually 'converse' with the cruiser more than once or twice... so wherever there's two exact matches on location... there's our target." Trychon typed onto his datapad quickly, and then let it work for a moment, before typing again. He repeated the process several times.
Trychon had been working on his datapad on and off for the past two hours at this point as they discussed their general plan. Raezyr was clearly irritated. "I've never seen you take so long to work on something." In reality, programs he'd made in the past were doing most of the work, but he hadn't used them in a while, and he had to work out some kinks as encryptions were not only different from group to group, but they also evolved over time. Trychon explained this and how he'd be able to do the same thing in a fraction of the time once his programs were up to date again.
They had pretty much gotten as much planning as was really possible without knowing any of the specifics of what would need to be done. They'd covered a large number of scenarios and ideas, but had mostly debated whether to go in alone. In the end, they'd agreed with each other all along but had played devils advocate with each other to make sure that they were positive. In the end, nobody in the crew right now with the exception of Dianna had little to no faith in them. They didn't need that sort of 'help'.
"I'm going to go see Dianna." Raezyr turned towards the door abruptly.
"She's probably still asleep."
"Then I may get some rest. We're stuck until we know where we're going. I suggest you rest if you get a chance as well. We head out within an hour when you get a location."
With that, Raezyr strode out of the room and down to the medical bay. The halls were dark and empty, but even though the crew should largely be asleep at this hour, Raezyr could feel that a large number of them were awake. There were feelings of worry and restlessness in nearly every room he passed on his way. He found himself outside his destination as it was one of the few rooms that actually seemed to have no conscious emotions. He hit the doorpad and entered.
He strode purposefully over to the bed he knew still held Dianna. He had hoped the med droid had moved her to a kolto tank and simply forgot to notify him as he'd demanded, but he knew that was unlikely and could feel her aura out from across the base if necessary. He was closer to her than anyone since his master, save perhaps his newly found brother. He sat down next to her and placed a hand on her torso gently, to sense her better and to be calmed by her breathing.
Her breathing was still ragged, but steadier than it was a few hours ago. It was a positive note, but a small one. After several minutes, he looked up to the med droid hovering around the Kolto tanks, taking readings. "How are they doing?" He spoke softly.
"With any luck sir, we may be able to downgrade the status of one or both of these patients tomorrow."
Raezyr nodded silently and looked back to Dianna. He closed his eyes, but he did not find sleep... nor did he look for it.
