The next evening found Raezyr and Trychon sitting down by the river, and it was the first chance they'd had to discuss everything Vikon had told them the night before. All day they had both been distracted. Neither of them had ever considered they might have any other family beyond themselves, and now they both wondered whether there might be others out there.
"A grandfather," Raezyr said, thinking out loud. "And at least according to that bantha's behind of a Sith Lord, he's still alive."
"It'd be interesting to sit down and talk with him," Trychon commented.
"Yeah, like a Master Jedi is just going to sit down and have nice family chat with two Sith over a hot cup of caf." Raezyr rolled his eyes.
"I just meant that I'm a little curious about our family now. You don't have to be an ass, Raez," Trychon retorted.
Raezyr let the comment go. "What I can't figure is how do we tell people about that. We can't very well run around saying, 'Hey, guess what? My grandfather is a Jedi.'"
"Don't worry about it. We'll have an opportunity to drop that little nugget of information. Just be on the look out for the right time. It will present itself," Trychon reassured him. "Let's just get to sparring."
They got up and drew their blades. As they circled, Raezyr suddenly stopped.
"What is it?" Trychon asked, wary of a trick.
"Your eyes."
"What? They're all yellow?"
"No... the yellow is almost gone," Raezyr said.
Trychon looked around for something reflective for a moment, forgetting where he was. "That's weird," he commented before taking up his fighting stance once more.
They sparred for awhile, and although it was clear that Raezyr was getting used to compensating for the lack of blade length, Trychon still came out ahead in their matches, although it took him longer to achieve the victories.
On the way back to the village, they talked more about what Vikon had said. "I don't really understand why we can't just cut all these monks down. They're unarmed. It'd take us about 30 minutes, then we could gather up these amulets and get out of here," Raezyr commented.
"This is the way Eiron wants it done. I'm sure he has his reasons, so let's just stick with it. If doing what Vikon instructs helps us accomplish that goal, then so be it," Trychon said.
