"No sense in having the Stalker drop those swoops for us, I guess," Raezyr said with a sigh as he walked back into the ship. Things weren't settling right for him. If Trychon was concerned, then there was something to be concerned about. It surprised him that in a few short month how he'd come to rely on Trychon to temper his own serious outlook on things. "Achkay, you stay out here and keep your sensors on full scan. We don't want any unexpected surprises."
After the HK-51 unit had replied in the affirmative, Trychon and he headed back on board to close up and shut down the ship. They made their way to the cockpit and double checked the sensor scans and had the ships computer compile a 10 day weather forecast. Luckily, it didn't appear that any storms were coming soon, but who knows how accurate that would prove to be, as they had no previous weather patterns with which to correlate it.
Trychon downloaded the results of the topography scans and the location that had caught their attention earlier. He estimated that it would take them anywhere between four days to a week to make the trek through the heavily forested area, depending on what obstacles they ran into along the way.
He also made adjusted the orbit of the Twilight Stalker so that it was stationary above that location and transferred the controls to his datapad.
Exiting the ship, Raezyr used his remote to lock it up and tucked the remote into a secure pocket on his utility belt, then shouldered his pack. Trychon and Achkay followed suit.
Trychon made a quick consultation with is datapad then tucked it away again. "We go west from here," he said, indicating a few slender trees about 30 meters off.
"Alright, I'll take point, Huck you bring up the rear, and keep your scanners peeled," Raezyr said.
They were about 20 meters in when the underbrush became so thick that Raezyr ignited his red blade and began slicing his way through. It was slow going, and they often had to wait for the droid to catch up. For all his added agility and strength, a trek over this kind of terrain was not what he was built for.
After four hours of hard going, they came to a small clearing near a brook and decided to make camp. They still had another couple of hours of daylight, but they doubted they'd find another place as suitable.
