It took Raezyr's vision a few minutes to resolve itself back into nearly solid images after regaining consciousness. He saw Trychon sitting a few feet away, waving at him. He sat up and felt his arms to make sure they were still solid, and in his surprise felt for the hole that should be in his chest. The burn sent another shock of pain through his body and his vision went blurry for a few seconds again.
"What...?" Raezyr tried to form a question to figure out exactly what Trychon had done to him.
"What... were the chances that our ghost images had fully powered weapons?" Trychon finished for him. "Not very good, I figured. We could have been here all night trying to duel ourselves. Had to take a different route."
Raezyr took some time to gather himself before standing. Trychon stood up and patted his back. "It's good to be right." He told Raezyr.
"You didn't think to grab Huck's blaster and shoot HIM?" Raezyr asked with a grimace.
"He's allergic to stims." Trychon quipped as he walked towards the far end of the room, where Aitchkay stood illuminating what he could. All of the lights seemed to be out now.
"Right." Raezyr followed him. "So do you figure we finally overloaded the generators?"
"Probably. Should make traveling a little less... interesting. Provided of course that we watch our footing." Trychon grabbed his torch and added to the lighting around them. Raezyr followed suit, and they headed down the new hallway. They passed through what seemed to be several doorways, all of which had edges that were clear of dust, suggesting that the power drain had opened them by default.
"Handy." Trychon mused. "Not how I'd set things up, personally... but whatever." Raezyr commented, as much to himself as to his companions.
They continued down the hallways, and they progressed in such a way that Aitchkay observed out loud that they were likely headed for whatever it was that the center door originally lead. They continued on in that direction, taking notes of anything that seemed as though it could be a potential trap if they managed to get the power back on.
With the power still off though, they made their way around rather quickly, even with the lack of light, and their attempts to observe any potential future danger. It didn't take them long to make it to what seemed to be the obvious destination of the center hall. They found themselves in an extremely large room, easily a hundred meters on a side, and with raised ceilings which allowed for very large groups of shelves. Most of the room was filled with these large stone shelves, and in turn most of the shelves were filled with books.
There was also quite a few showcases with various artifacts and tools, as well as weapons. There were also scattered odds and ends on some of the shelves, and a few statues scattered around the walls but they didn't seem to hold the same importance. The largest showcases were in the center of the room, and while there was still no lighting in this room, these cases seemed to jump out to them.
"Alright guys... don't touch any of these yet. I have a feeling that many of these central items may be well protected in their own ways." Trychon walked over to one of the more simple bookcases and picked out one of the dusty books. It was in the same odd language the symbols littering the area were. "It's ok. None of this matters for now. We need to figure out where the Holocrons are."
Then an object grabbed his attention. One of the stone statues seemed to call to him. He walked over to the large figurine and stared at it. The statue had no face, but had the standard Sith robes. In its hands, it held a long cylindrical tube. Trychon reached out for it slowly, entranced in the power it seemed to emanate to him.
Raezyr noticed from across the room that Trychon was drifting out of normal conscious thought. He turned and saw his approach to the dark statue. He tried to reach out to him through their bond, but Trychon wouldn't flinch. Raezyr pulled out his short saber and ignited it, hurling it across the room and at Trychon.
Just as he was about to grab the item from the stone figure, his sense of danger forced him to turn and twist out of the path of the incoming blade. He snatched it out of midair and stared at it, as though coming out of a haze.
Raezyr walked up to him and grabbed his weapon back. "Listen to your own advice, will ya? We need to get find those holocrons."
Trychon nodded and pointed at the object that had stolen his attention. "Raez... what do you think that is?"
Raezyr glanced over at it. It had a unique design, with stone coverings and intricate dragons chiseled into it... but Raezyr recognized it easily. "That's a double-bladed lightsaber, Trych. Come on." Raezyr grabbed Trychon's shoulder and lead him away from the Sith weapon, so they could continue their search for the holocrons.
"Raez?"
"Yeah, Trych?"
"I want one."
"Ok."
