Trychon walked slowly through the library, still enjoying observing all he could while he was there. This room was like everything he'd ever hoped to uncover back on his home... nearly deciphered for him. It was like the birthday he never had was coming... and soon. It took some concentration to stay on task, rather than bury himself in a book, or soon a holocron. Eiron hadn't told them not to learn from them in the meantime.
Finally, he reached the doorway Raezyr had gone through. He stopped and soaked in the energy that was pouring through the door, like a warm rain shower. Opening his eyes, he saw Raezyr standing with a smirk in the doorway. "Nice, isn't it?" Raezyr asked him. "Come take a look at these though."
Trychon did as he was asked, and stepped into the room, seeing the rows of knowledge and power, waiting for them. "Ooh..." He said. "Shiny!"
Raezyr muttered a small agreement as he reached out for the nearest holocron. He extended his arm fairly slowly and Trychon watched as his Raezyr's hand lit up more than he expected under the overhead lights. He withdrew his hand in shock and shook his hand in pain. He shook his head, and put his hand back out again to grab the item more quickly. He hesitated before clamping down on it though, and almost immediately yelled out in pain before grabbing it. When his fingers made contact, electricity coursed through the pedestal and holocron, and Raezyr withdrew his arm and fell to his knees.
He got up slowly and stared at his acquisition. "Well, that was fun. I thought you were going to bypass the security."
Trychon walked up to one of the pedestals, examining it and preparing to duplicate the feat. "I did. Some things may still be hardwired. Or maybe this is simply part of earning the holocrons. Hard to say. The designs didn't exactly have footnotes." He pushed his hand out into the light, and felt as though he was plunging it into boiling water. He grimaced and did his best to ignore it, he grabbed the holocron and yelled as his arm took the shock from the pedestal, his entire body felt as if it was on fire as he fell backwards, landing in a sitting position on the floor. He looked to Raezyr and shrugged, implicating that it was his turn.
Raezyr took a deep breath, and moved on to the next holocron. He steeled his nerves, prepared for what was about to happen, and he snagged it as fast as he could. He backed up from the electricity, not falling to his knees this time. His arm was visibly shaking though. He put the holocron away and yelled. "I hate these kriffing lamps!" He pulled out his short blade, and ignited it before sending it up towards the ceiling and the source of the light.
The lightsaber fell to the floor, with the blade shorted out and no visible damage to the light. Raezyr picked it up and examined it. He turned it on and then off again after he was satisfied that it was still working perfectly. Turning to Trychon, he said "You know, I'd wager that they didn't really set this up so that we could take more than one of these very easily." Trychon already had his datapad out, and Raezyr heard metallic footsteps come nearer until finally Aitchkay walked through the entryway. "Greeting query: Might I be of service?"
"You may indeed, Huck." Raezyr pointed to the holocron nearest the door. "Toss me that, will you?"
Aitchkay didn't hesitate as he took two steps to the pedestal, and grabbed the holocron. A bit of blue lightning played over the outside of his gray exterior, but he seemed unaffected. He tossed the holocron to Raezyr, who caught it and put it with the others. "You ok?" He asked the droid. "Diagnosis: Optimal" was the droid's reply.
Raezyr and Trychon watched in relief as their combat droid made fairly quick work of the rest of the holocrons. When he was done, they'd netted an even dozen of the Sith artifacts. They sat for a moment, admiring the haul, and Raezyr echoed Trychon's earlier sentiment that the objects were 'shiny'.
They got up and dusted themselves off. They walked out into the main library and discussed what else they would take. After a few points and counter points, they'd decided that they were going to leave any artifact beyond what they'd already gotten, as they had an odd and potentially dangerous force aura to them. They doubted there would be any issues with taking some texts with them, but ended up deciding to take only one for each of them to work on learning the text, on the offchance that leaving the library was somehow harmful to the books themselves.
With everything they planned to take in hand, Raezyr called out to Trychon, who was grabbing a book from a shelf on the opposite wall. "Ready to go then?"
"Not quite." He called back. He crossed the room and continued as he went. "I've been thinking... and there's some really... interesting attributes to this planet. I am more than a bit curious what we may find in a Sith "laboratory'."
Raezyr nodded. "Indeed."
