279. Hoth: King's Lair - Raezyr

Before Tyrrazapon could answer Dianna, Raezyr spoke up.

"How would you like it if I started asking detailed questions about your last mission?" he asked rhetorically.

"MY last mission and motives aren't the ones in question, kid. You come into my home, with the Republic and the Jedi on your ass, and try to give me some bullshit 'it's not my fault' story, and don't think we're gonna ask questions? Well, you've got another think comin'!" Zanz said, raising his voice.

"Look old man, you're way out of your league here," Raezyr said standing up. His actions were mirrored by Zanz. They walked around the table until they were standing eye-to-eye, chests nearly touching.

"I'm outta my league? Listen you snot-nosed brat! I was neck deep in Mando bodies when you were still shitting in your hands and wiping it on your face!" Zanz screamed.

"And for all of that, I could kill you right now without blinking," Raezyr said with deadly calm. He continued before Zanz could reply, "But since this is your house, and out of respect for your Captain, I'll tell you what we were doing.

"We had a business deal with the Revenants. You know who they are?" Raezyr asked.

Zanz seemed to calm a bit, "Who hasn't? They only control all the organized crime in the Core."

"We were in the middle of conducting that business in one of their warehouses, when a Jedi broke in and decided she was going to arrest us. We tried to escape the Jedi, not because we were afraid her, but because we knew the inevitable outcome that the confrontation would bring.

"SHE pursued US, until she had us cornered. She herded us straight into more Jedi. The fight was forced on us by the Jedi. They brought judicials and soldiers to the fight. We were severely outnumbered, and did what we had to do to survive.

"Now, if you'd like to continue with your sad, pathetic attempt to intimidate those who are more powerful than you, we can step into the hanger and settle this. With your Captain's permission, of course. It is HER house, after all," Raezyr said calmly.

The implication that Zanz had overstepped his bounds was not lost on him, and his face flushed even redder than it already was.

Every instinct in his body said that he needed to take this kid down a notch, but his memory of his time under the Sith was telling him that he just might be in over his head. He hadn't lived this long by acting rashly, and in the end, logic won out over the sting of his wounded pride.

Turning, he walked back to his seat, sat down, and continued eating.

Raezyr eyed him for a moment before returning to his own chair.

"How long were you looking to stay, Tyr?" Dianna asked, as if nothing had happened.

  1. Damn.

    That was harsh.

    Whew...

But it also felt very... Not sure what the word is... Sith. Very... Anakin... Powerful... In control...

I dunno. Made me glad I wasn't sitting in the room.
