326. Pirates....... YAR! - Raezyr

The Caridan sun was was turning the eastern sky into a pale, lemony yellow as they made it back to the private hangar bay.

It actually took less time to install the new parts into the hyperdrive generator than it did to remove them, and with Dianna's help, they were done in no time.

Raezyr stopped in to the refresher for a quick clean-up from the nights events and then made his way to the the cockpit and began pre-flight procedures. Dianna joined him shortly after.

"Where's Trychon?" Raezyr commented as she sat down and buckled in.

"How the hell should I know?"

"Are you still mad about the talking 'behind your back?'"

Dianna turned and looked at Raezyr. "Here's the problem: This is my mission. I should be doing this by myself, but it's your ship, and that's the only reason you two are here, but somehow I'm the third wheel. I've been commanding men and ships for years and yet here I am, being treated as inferior to two guys who are new at this. What makes you think that you two are so superior to me?"

Raezyr reached over and put his hand on her forearm gently. "Di, there's something you have to understand. Trych and I aren't like normal men. We wield a power that most people not only don't understand, but that many think is myth. We control it, and bend it to our will. We are not accustomed to yielding control to those we can crush with that power, and the fact that we listen to you at all is testament to the fact that we admire your strength and abilities. Does that make sense?"

"I guess I can see your point of view, but now try to understand mine. I learned this job from one of the best in the business. There are people in my crew that would kill for the position that I hold, but they don't, because they respect and trust in my abilities and judgment. I know this business. Let me do my job."

Raezyr withdrew his hand and started up the engines. "Would you mind getting Trych up here? I'm betting he's racked out in his cabin."

"No problem."

Within a few moments all three were seated and strapped in. A few minutes more and they had left Carida's atmosphere.
