46. The Search For Darth Vikon - Raezyr

"Yeah...we... should go," Raezyr managed. "Whatever that gem is, people are killing for it. I bet they'll kill again." He drew his hilts and moved toward the door.

"I just wish we had found Vikon," Trychon said wistfully.

Pain shot through Raezyr's side and he dropped to one knee. He held up a hand to stop Trychon, who had started to move toward him. "I'll be alright. We need to be more vigilant now than before. Keep your attention out there. I'll make it." Raezyr started to rise, then stopped and reached behind a console desk beside him. He pulled something out, looked at it, then tossed it to Trychon.

"I don't think we'll be finding Vikon." Raezyr announced.

"Why not?" Trychon asked, turning over the blackened piece of electronics in his hands.

"'Cuz that's a piece of a light saber. A piece with a synth-crystal still in it." Trychon gave him a slightly confused look. "Look. Vikon clearly came here for the gem in your pocket, that we've both surmised. Let's think about the rest of the picture. He didn't get it. He also hasn't been heard from since. Now we find a destroyed light saber. If he weren't dead, he would have made sure he had the most valuable piece of the weapon: the power crystal. Without it, he wouldn't be able to construct a new saber, and these crystals are pretty damned rare. That one is a synth-crystal which causes the blade to be red, and also stronger, which as you know, is commonly preferred by most Sith, so I assume it's Vikon's," Raezyr explained.

Trychon tossed the charred piece of light saber back to Raezyr, who wiggled the crystal out of the debris and tucked it into a pouch on his belt the dropped the slag on the ground.

"Thanks for the lesson, but can we get out of here now? The longer we stand here, the better the chance someone comes looking for those three," Trychon chided as he stepped out of the control room door and ignited his blade.

Raezyr concentrated on the Force and generically directed it to the wound in his side. It took a slight edge off the pain. He knew there were actual techniques for pain control and healing, but he hadn't a clue how to use them. It wasn't much, but it was enough.

They slowly made their way, uninterupted back to the entrance of the factory and slid outside the door.

"There's no way I can walk all the way back to the ship, and I highly doubt we're getting a cab around here," Raezyr said, looking around.

At about the same time, both Trychon and Raezyr spotted 3 swoop bikes down the street. "Wait here," said Trychon as he trotted off quickly toward the bikes, keeping as much to the shadows as possible.

I hope he knows what he's doing!
