Trychon tried to do what Raezyr had shown him about feeling for other people. He couldn't feel anything. He trusted Raezyr's instincts almost more than his own though, so he agreed. Raezyr started up ahead of him and they slowly climbed the stairs together.
Raezyr turned out to be right. Neither of them had sensed the automatic defense mechanisms in place. There was a flash from somewhere, nearly blinding them both before the lasers opened up.
Trychon did his best to block what he could, but Raezyr stepped in front of him to take the brunt of the attack. It was moments that seemed like eternity to Trychon, when Raezyr finally managed to take out the gun emplacements with well placed redirections.
"Well... hopefully that's the worst." Trychon commented.
